Ever since filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali announced his upcoming magnum opus ‘Padmavati’, the movie has been facing a major issue regarding its cast. So far, it is being reported that SLB has roped in Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor after much of insistence for his periodical drama.
But now adding to Bhansali’s woes, it is being reported that Shahid Kapoor has threatened to walk out of ‘Padmavati’ and it is all because of his co-star Ranveer.
Apparently, Ranveer Singh, who will play the role of antagonist Allauddin Khilji, has been insecure with Shahid’s role in the movie. Kapoor will portray Raja Rawal Ratan and will be romancing Padmavati Deepika Padukone.
In fact, Ranveer is said to be making weird demands to Bhansali regarding Shahid’s role, leaving the filmmaker beleaguered.
As per media reports, the ‘Befikre’ actor has demanded that the first look poster should feature him along with Deepika sans Shahid, as he wants the entire focus should be kept on him and his lady love.
This hasn’t gone down well with the ‘Udta Punjab’ actor who has warned Bhansali against this kind of behaviour.
Apparently, this is not the first time that Ranveer has kept such a demand regarding ‘Padmavati’
Earlier it was reported that Singh had asked SLB to cut down Shahid’s role to a mere guest appearance as he wanted to share the maximum screen time with Deepika Padukone.
However, Bhansali had reportedly refused to adhere to Ranveer’s inappropriate requests, leaving the actor miffed.
In fact, there were also reports that Ranveer had even decided to leave the periodical drama. However, the reports were quashed after the actor recently gave a glimpse of his look from ‘Padmavati’.
If industry reports are to be believed, considering the hefty amount and time Bhansali has invested in the movie so far, he is in no mood to let his already delayed magnum opus suffer due the ego clashes between the lead actors.
We wonder if Bhansali will be able to reach a common consensus between Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor.
