New Delhi: The three Khans, Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir, complete Bollywood in a unique way. Having one in any film, means the filmmakers have won half the battle at the box office. Interestingly, the three Khans were born in the same year and today are standing almost equal to each other in terms of stardom and fan base spanning billions.
Over the years, Bollywood has always seen the three as competitors. Their box office collections, their tax returns, their number of movies, everything is seen with a competitive streak. But, Salman Khan has made it clear that it is time that the three are not looked as competitors.
The Bajrangi Bhaijaan star told a leading daily:
“People have loved Shah Rukh, Aamir and me for years and made us what we are today. We don’t treat each other as competition anymore. I am not competing with anyone. I am competing with myself. When someone who doesn’t like me tells me, 'Bhai, tu aaj kal achha kaam kar raha hai', or even for someone who’s already a fan, we take it to the next level for him.”
Speaking about the time when they entered the industry and had names like Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor and Dharmendra ruling it, Salman said:
“When we entered the industry, we were competing with the seniors. Today, it’s more difficult competing with the juniors. Now, phatt se, we are in the position of our seniors and the kids of this new generation are figuring out what we must have felt back then. But we are doing fine.”
We think that these three stars are not only doing fine but great. After decades in the industry, it is fine if they don’t fret about box office collections much. Now, all cine buffs want is seeing them share screen space, even it for once. That would be epic, don’t you think?
