New Delhi: Since last year, reports were rife that the big Khan clash will happen at the box office. Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’ and Shah Rukh’s ‘Raees’ were all set to release on Eid this year but it is not happening anymore.
Though, trade experts were never in favour of this clash, it was being suggested that Shah Rukh delayed his film because he found the clash with Salman is awkward. But SRK has revealed that there is yet another reason for it.
While speaking to a leading daily, Shah Rukh said that the release was delayed because of his injury.
He said,
“While we were shooting, I got injured which delayed the shoot for almost eight to nine months. Then we did action but a few pieces were still left to be canned. We have completed it now but I felt due to my injury they didn’t come out the way I wanted. It’s over now. It was so rushed so we took a decision.”
He then went on to add that he thought clashing with Salman Khan was not a good idea given their friendship. He told,
“Then Sultan was ready for release along with Raees. Two big films on the same day… they are friends too. So we all decided that if you are completely ready, we can accommodate. Not getting a free date because you have to announce beforehand which is something I never do. When it is ready, we will announce. Jan 26 is what we have decided on now… the film is complete though.”
Well, we are glad that cine buffs will not have to choose between two films.
