New Delhi: The release of superstar Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Raees’ has been shrouded in mystery. It was earlier said to clash with Salman Khan’s Sultan, but that is not happening now. Shah Rukh said that it is weird to clash with Salman, so we all got the signals from his words.
Turns out, not clashing with Salman Bhai, is not a good idea for Shah Rukh. Reports have it, that ‘Raees’ will now go head on with not one, but two movies. Raees’ release date has been officially postponed to 26 January, 2017. Enabling it to clash with Ajay Devgn’s ‘Baadshaho’ and Hrithik Roshan's ‘Kaabil’.
An official statement by the makers of Raees confirmed that delaying the release of SRK’s movie was not an easy decision to take. The statement read
“It was not an easy decision to move the film. We understand that this film is highly anticipated. However, a movie of such magnitude requires appropriate showcasing and therefore, we have decided to shift our release date to 26 January, 2017.”
This will not be the first time that Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn will lock horns at the box office. In 2012, Jab Tak Hain Jaan and Son Of Sardar released together and the battle had taken a nasty turn. Ajay had accused SRK and YRF of using their clout to keep Son Of Sardar out of theatres.
As soon as the news of SRK clashing with Ajay, saw the light of the day, Twitter became a place where fans vented their emotions. On one hand where Salman’s fans trended ‘ONLY SULTAN KI DARING THIS EID’, testifying that no one came steal that from him; Ajay’s fans trended ‘DONT DARE BAADSHAHO IS THERE’ pointing out that the battle will not be easy for SRK.
How the last clash with Bajirao Mastani, went for SRK’s Dilwale, is known to all. So, going for a collision with Ajay Devgn and Hrithik Roshan’s highly anticipated movies could not be an intelligent decision after all. Only time with tell.
