Actor Sanjay Dutt who will soon start the shooting of his comeback film ‘Bhoomi’ wanted to play father Sunil Dutt’s role in his biopic. Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani who is making the film on the real lifestory of the actor has Paresh Rawal as Sanjay’s father.
If reports are to be believed then the actor was not interested to play his role in the film because he didn’t wanted attention to be divided between his real and reel character. Thus, he was keen to play his father’s iconic character in the film.
Only the makers of the flick can reveal the reason of not casting the talented actor in his own biopic. In the film, Ranbir Kapoor will be seen essaying Sanjay’s role and will portray three stages of his life. To do justice with the character, the ‘Barfi’ actor gained more than13kg of weight.
Hirani who has worked with Sanjay in hit movies like ‘Munnabhai’ and ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’ shares warm relation with the star. Thus, he penned down some interesting incidents of his life.
Besides Ranbir, the film also features Sonam Kapoor as Sanjay’s earlier lover. Dia Mirza will play Sanjay’s wife Manyata in the film. The untitled project also marks the comeback of Manisha Koirala who will essay the role of actor’s mother Nargis Dutt.
