Since he walked past the Yerwada prison as a free man in February, actor Sanjay Dutt signing a movie has became quite the topic of discussion in tinsel town. Now, finally after many months, Sanju Baba has signed a movie which is tentatively called ‘Torbaaz’. The movie is directed by Girish Malik and will go on floors next year.
Sanjay Dutt will reportedly play a retired soldier in this movie which is about Agfhan kids who are trained to be suicide bombers. It was suggested that Sanjay will soon start filming for the third instalment of the Munnabhai franchisee, but that has been put on hold for reasons unknown. But, now by being roped in this project, Sanjay has something to work on.
Shedding light on what made him take up such a project, Girish told a leading daily that the recent events got him into thinking. He said that when he heard about a young man blowing himself up in Turkey, he wished to explore what went into the minds of these people. He said that children are getting trained in Afghanistan as suicide bombers and Pakistani cricketer Ramiz Raja told him that he should give some hope to these children.
“We must show them there are other positive options. And that’s how the idea for this film was born,” Malik was quoted.
Speaking about the movie, Girish told it is about a retired army officer who reached Kabul, after he loses everything. In his quest of searching a new meaning to his life, he teaches cricket to kids who had been wielding guns since. Girish added that the movie is not a gory one with lot of killing and bloodshed; instead it is a ray of hope in these gloomy days.
Well, it will be worth seeing how Sanjay brings to life the idea of Girish on screen.
