New Delhi: The upcoming movie ‘Sultan’ has what has got everyone hooked these days. It is superstar Salman Khan’s big Eid release, which brings the fresh pair of Anushka and Salman on screen. Besides, not to forget the wrestler avatar of Salman.

At the age of 50, Salman went through extensive work out sessions to get into the skin of the character. He gained and lost weight; he learnt wrestling moves and tried speaking Haryanavi (though only after someone spoke before him).

But, the world of ‘Sultan’ spans more than this. Sultan’s life is about friends, his parents and his village. Now, you might think where we got all this information from? Well, the production of ‘Sultan’, Yash Raj Films revealed this.

As a part of a promotional stint, YRF earlier today released a video offering a sneak peek into the life of Sultan. In the 5 minutes long video, people close to Sultan have spoken about his life. From his younger brother to his school teacher to the conductor of the bus in which he travelled, all of them said wonderful things about Sultan Ali Khan.

We have listed five of them for you to give you an insight into the reel life of the Olympic medal winning wrestler:

Imran: Sultan’s younger brother Imran said, that during their childhood spent in Rewari, Haryana the former was quite naughty. Imran revealed that Sultan used to bunk many classes.

Praveen Kumar: Sultan’s school teacher said that he was stubborn as a kid. He said that Sultan thought differently than all his peers and books did not interest him much. The teacher revealed that at a very young age, when other kids said they wanted to be a doctor or lawyer, Sultan always had a clear answer that he would make Haryana proud after he grew up.

Govind: Sultan and Govind befriended each other after school. Govind said that it was Sultan’s idea to start a business of cable TV in the village, owing to the popularity. It was during his business stint that Sultan thought of becoming a wrestler. Govind also said that Sultan reached the state level championship from the Barkat akhada.

Jagdish Kalimaran:  Sultan’s coach said, “On the very first day itself he told me he wanted to represent India in Olympics. I though he was joking and I told him to come to practice the following day.” Jagdish also added that it is a common notion that wrestlers don’t use their mind much, but with Sultan that is not the case. He used his mind and power to defeat his opponents. Jagdish, also revealed that it was Sultan’s determination that did not led his financial restrictions come in way of his dreams.

Vijay Kumar: Bus conductor Vijay had a really touching story to tell about Sultan. He said “Sultan’s home was 15 kms away from the field of district Rewari. Earlier he used to cover the distance by running.” Vijay also said that he never charged any money from Sultan every time he took his bus because the conductor felt a deep connection with the wrestler.
