New Delhi: Superstar Salman Khan’s recent release ‘Sultan’ has turned out to be a hit at the box office. The movie is minting crores and has entered the 100 crore club in just three days of release.
While ‘Sultan’ is ruling the BO and the audience’s hearts, the recent reports about the movie have created a lot of buzz too.
It was reported that the makers of ‘Sultan’ are planning for a sequel to the movie. According to media reports, the YRF honcho Aditya Chopra had already instructed director Ali Abbas Zafar to get a script for the sequel.
This news has created a lot of excitement amongst the Salman Khan fans.
But, it looks like director Ali doesn’t seem to coincide with the reports. He has vehemently quashed the rumours saying there aren’t any plans for the sequel yet.
“There is no plan to make a sequel to Sultan. With the kind of love it has got from the audience, I don’t think I would like to tamper that till the time I find a story that is more evolved than this. Coz it’s a sports film. It is very important that you need to have a philosophy. And the philosophy here was that wrestling is not just a sport; it is about fighting what lies within. And that is what the character goes through in Sultan. So till the time I find something larger than the character can go through it is not going to be rewritten or made into a sequel,” Ali told an entertainment portal.
‘Sultan’ features Salman Khan in the role of a wrestler opposite Anushka Sharma. The movie was released on July 6.
