New Delhi: Superstar Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’ is roaring loud and clear at the box office. With each passing day since its release on July 6, this Ali Abbas Zafar directorial is smashing and making box office records.

As it completes seven successful days, ‘Sultan’ has minted Rs 208 crores in India. By entering the Rs 200 crore club in just seven days, the movie added yet another feather to its cap. Movies like ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and ‘Dhoom 3’ took nine days to achieve this feat.

While the entire team of ‘Sultan’ is elated to be a part of such a blockbuster, there are still a few records that it failed to break. Despite being declared an ‘All Time Bollywood Blockbuster’, Salman’s last release fell short in breaking these three records at the box office. Have a look:

Not the highest opener:

Over the years one thing has become quite prominent in the Hindi film industry that the festival of Eid is as much about Salman’s releases as it is about the celebrations. However, despite an Eid release, ‘Sultan’ failed to become the highest opener. The movie earned Rs 36.54 crores on the first day which is less that ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’. The last year Diwali’s release of Salman Khan had minted Rs 39 crores on the first day. ‘Sultan’ was also behind superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Happy New Year’ which had earned close to Rs 45 crores on the first day.

Not the movie to earn the most on a single day:

Despite entering the Rs 200 crores club in a matter of seven days, none of these days helped ‘Sultan’ break this record. A thundering start at the box office was not enough to make ‘Sultan’ the movie which earned the maximum on a single day. The record rests with SRK’s HNY which did a record business of Rs 45 crores on the first day itself.

Not the highest Monday earner:

‘Sultan’ earned Rs 15.50 crores on the first Monday since its release but still came behind movies like ‘Dhoom 3’ and ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’. While the Aamir Khan starrer earned Rs 21.71 crores on the first Monday post its release, Salman’s last year’s Eids release raked in Rs 27.05 crores.
