New Delhi: Ever since superstar Salman Khan has been appointed as the goodwill ambassador of Rio Olympics, it kick started a hurricane of debates. Some people from the sports fraternity have highly criticized IOA’s move to choose a Bollywood actor over a sports personality.
Yesterday, we saw Salim Khan defending his son’s appointment, in a series of posts on Twitter. He was reacting to Milkha Singh’s statement on why Salman isn’t the right choice for the same.
Salim, on one hand, backed Salman’s selection and called him ‘an A level swimmer cyclist and weight lifter’ while on other, rant on sprint-legend Milkha Singh saying that ‘film industry resurrected you from fading in oblivion’.
Here is what he said:
But Salim Khan’s comments didn’t go well with many people and today, we have Pooja Bhatt taking on the issue. She seemed to be pretty amused with his tweets about the sports person.
The lady, without naming anyone, flushed her disagreement on the micro blogging site. She maintained that no film could have been made if “Milkha Singh didn’t achieve what he did in the first place” and he should be given the due respect.
Here’s what she tweeted.
We wonder where this debate is leading to. One can only hope for sanity to prevail.
