The Salman Khan and Kabir Khan combo Tubelight hit the cinemas on June 23 amid huge expectations. Even though the film failed to impress audience and critics alike, the actor-director is all set for an upcoming project, latest buzz suggests. The highlight is that Salman is said to be playing a senior citizen role in the untitled film. The new Salman-Kabir project will apparently require the Sultan star to age from 40 to 75.
The film will be more daringly unconventional and un-Salman, according to a Deccan Chronicle report. The report further suggested that a source close to Bhai revealed that the Dabangg actor is not really bothered about critics.
“He wants to play characters now, and not just be Salman Khan the superstar now. The same critics slammed him for just going in front of the camera and not doing anything to change into characters. Now when he’s keen to play characters he will do what he wants without fear of criticism. Kabir and bhai had already discussed another project during the making of Tubelight, and that commitment remains unchanged”, the source was quoted as saying to the tabloid.
Further, the source said that during an Eid get-together at the actor’s home, Kabir Khan jokingly asked Salman if he still wants to go ahead with another film with him. To which, the superstar grinned and mock-punched the filmmaker, the source added.
On a related note, Salman Khan is reported to play a cameo in Aanand L Rai’s next, which also stars Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma in lead roles.
