New Delhi: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is known for his controversies as much for his movies. He has a history of getting embroiled in controveries, be it court cases or like the latest Rio Olympics appointment one.

Thanks to these hullabaloos, Salman has built an image of an antagonist off screen. He has garnered a lot of criticism, but he never played a villain in any of his movies.

There isn’t any doubt that we all have loved Salman Khan in every role he has played so far – adarsh beta in ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ to the innocent soft heart person in ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ to a notorious cop in ‘Dabangg’ and many more.

But, surprisingly, Salman has been one of those few actors who haven’t played a negative role ever on the big screen. The closest he came to being the bad guy was in ‘Wanted’, but the climax of this movie revealed that he was actually a good person hiding in the bad skin.

On being quizzed about playing a villainous role recently, Salman quipped by saying that he wants to be the good guy on screen at least.

“I don’t like that genre at all. I don’t want to be a villain. I believe in entertaining the audience. I like playing the hero, a good man who’s memory people carry back home. If I cannot play it in real life, at least I can play such a man on screen. That’s what I want to do. I want to give the youth stories, or at least one scene in the film, that in some way makes them strong, become men and gladiators in real life. That subconscious training is almost like an education,” Salman told a leading daily.

Currently, Salman Khan is gearing up for the release of his upcoming movie ‘Sultan’ opposite Anushka Sharma. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the movie will hit the theatres on July 6.
