New Delhi: Last year has been pretty amazing of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. Both his movies, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ struck gold at the box office. This amazing collection at the box office has enabled Salman to become the number one actor to pay highest advance tax for 2015-16 with Rs. 32 crore.
Last year, Salman had paid Rs 26 crores as advance tax. Akshay Kumar, whose biggest last hit year was Baby, paid Rs 23 crores as advance tax for 2015- 2016. In 2014- 2015, Akshay had paid Rs 30 crores. Kapoor scion, Ranbir occupied the third slot in the list. Despite 2015 being a bad year for Ranbir, in term of box office collections, he still continues to be every filmmaker and brand manager's dream to work with. This year (2015-16) Ranbir Kapoor has paid Rs. 22.3 crores as compared to his payment of Rs. 19.7 crores for the year 2014-15.
Bollywood’s Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan, slipped down to the fourth position this year. As opposed to Rs 32 crores which he paid in 2014 2015, this financial year King Khan has paid Rs 20 crores. The third Khan, Aamir has paid Rs 19. 6 crores, where in he had paid Rs 15.8 crore for the year 2014-15.
Star of the millennium, Amitabh Bachchan whose name was dragged in the controversial Panama Papers, has paid Rs 17. 5 crores. Last year, Big B, who won National award for ‘Piku’, had paid Rs 29.2 crores.
Following Big B, on the list is ‘Singham’ Ajay Devgn who paid the same amount as advance tax as he had in the year 2014-15- Rs 5 crores. The only actress to make to this list of advance tax payers is Priyanka Chopra who paid Rs. 1.45 crore advance tax. The ‘Quantico’ actress had paid Rs. 2.46 crore for 2014-15.
