Despite much of the hype and promotions, actress Shraddha Kapoor’s recent release ‘Rock On 2’ failed to leave a mark at the box office.
The movie managed to mint merely Rs 10.50 crores in the first week of release and Shraddha is quite upset with the poor performance of ‘Rock On 2’.
Talking about the failure of the movie, Shradda admitted that she did had high hopes for the movie given that the actress had worked really hard for it and gave so much time as well.
"It's sad that the film has not done well, you do feel bad. You work hard and spend so much time on a film, a Friday comes and decides the fate of the film”, Shraddha said.
The actress further asserted that while ‘Rock On 2’ has got mixed response from the audience, it would have been better if the collections were good too.
“I wish the film did better and people would have liked the film. I guess there is some mixed response, I hope people like the film," Shraddha added.
Also starring Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Purab Kohli, Shashank Arora and Prachi Desai, ‘Rock On 2’ was released on November 11.
The movie was a sequel to 2008 release ‘Rock On’ which was higly acclaimed by the critics.
Interestingly, the makers of ‘Rock On 2’ chose to retain the entire cast of the first movie along with two new additions in the team –Shraddha Kapoor and Shashank Arora.
Now Shraddha Kapoor is gearing up for her next movie which is a biopic on underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena Parkar.
Titled as ‘Haseena: The Queen of Mumbai’, the movie will have the Shraddha playing the titular role along with her brother Sidhanth Kapoor essaying Dawood Ibrahim on the silver scree.
The movie will be helmed by Apoorva Lakhia.
