Ram Gopal Varma’s chauvinist comment on International Women’s Day landed him in legal trouble as a Goa-based female activist filed a police complaint against the filmmaker and, also asked for his Twitter account to be blocked.
Now, RGV has threatened a counter FIR.
Pratiksha Kargaonkar, belonging to Women’s branch of Hindu group Hindu Janajagruti, filed a complaint against RGV in Goa.
The complaint states that insulting a woman’s respect is a cognizable offence under the Indecent Representation of Women Act, thus an offence should be registered against the director under Cyber Law for victimisation of Women.
