2017 was a not-so-great year for Emraan Hashmi as Baadshaho didn’t turn out to be such a great movie. However, Emraan is now ready to bounce back with Cheat India, a contemporary satire on the Indian education system. The release date for 'India">Cheat India', has been announced.

The movie will be seeing a worldwide release on January 25, 2019, under Emraan Hashmi Films, in collaboration with Ellipsis Entertainment and T-Series.

The movie is inspired by the crimes in the Indian education system, which has created a parallel ecosystem infested with a mafia of sorts.

Helmed by 'Gulaab Gang' director Soumik Sen, the flick is second from Hashmi's production house.

Interestingly, Cheat India will be clashing on the Republic Day weekend with Hrithik Roshan’s Super 30, another film set against the backdrop of education.

Ever since making a mark in Dibakar Banerjee’s Shanghai, Emraan has been experimenting with fresh and challenging roles in films like Ghanchakkar, Raja Natwarlal and Azhar. The actor will also be seen in the upcoming spy thriller, Captain Nawab.

Speaking about Cheat India, Emraan in an earlier tweet had said, “The edge-of-the-seat drama will take a startling look at the crimes in the Indian education system which has created a parallel ecosystem infested with a mafia of sorts. I am sure that every student and youth will hugely relate to the subject. In an era marked by the success of content alone, I’m excited to be essaying a character which I believe will be a landmark one in my filmography.”
