A chargesheet has been filed against pop star Remo Fernandes for verbally abusing a minor girl, police said on Saturday. The case dates back to last year when a car allegedly driven by Remo’s son knocked her down on December 15 last year.
Remo was chargesheeted on Thursday. The case was filed under the Goa Chilren’s Court last year, said Police Inspector Uday Parab.
Inspector Parab told media that they filed chargesheet before GCC ager completing the investigation.
The singer has been charged for verbally abusing a minor girl from Malvan in Maharashtra. The girl was walking toward the Old Goa Church complex on an annual pilgrimage when the incident happened.
Later, after the victim was admitted to the Goa Medical College near Panaji, Remo met the girl and after an altercation verbally abused her.
An FIR was filed against Remo under section 8 of Goa Children’s Act, a special legislation which deals with crimes against children.
