Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao's second collaboration Mental Hai Kya's release date has been pushed further. The movie which was earlier slated to hit theaters on 22 February 2019 will now release on 29th March. The postponement of Mental Hai Kya has given a clear road to Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh's De De Pyaar De. However, now Kangana's movie will clash with Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon starrer Luka Chuppi, the shooting of which wrapped up a few weeks ago. Luka Chuppi, produced by Dinesh Vijan has been directed by Laxman Utekar and is based in Mathura. Its shooting was done in Kartika Aaryan's hometown Gwalior.

Earlier in a statement, producer Ekta Kapoor said, ''Mental Hai Kya celebrates the beauty in imperfections and in being different and shouts out, Sanity is overrated! I'm thrilled to work with Kangana and Raj on this one." Directed by Prakash Kovelamudi, the movie also features Amyra Dastur and Satish Kaushik in pivotal roles.

On a related note, both Kangana and Rao have been vocal during the ongoing #MeToo movement. While Kangana has come up and accused Queen director Vikas Bahl of misbehaving with her, Rao has also demanded safe workplace for women. ''He'd (Bahl) bury his face in my neck, hold me really tight and breathe in the smell of my hair. It took me great amount of strength and effort to pull myself out of his embrace. He'd say 'I love how you smell K'', said Kangana in an interview.

In an interview with Huffington Post, Rao said, ''It’s very shocking and sad. What happened was very unfortunate. I strongly condemn whatever is going on. What is wrong is wrong. We as an industry should come together to protect everyone, be it men or women, against any kind of harassment, and I hope and pray that God will give strength to that girl to come out of it even stronger.''
