Dubbed as a “female buddy comedy”, director Shashank Ghosh’s ‘Veere Di Wedding’ has got a new mahurat as it release date has been pushed to June 1. The film, which was earlier scheduled to release on May 18, has been pushed by two weeks.
Veere Di Wedding features Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar, and Shikha Talsania in the lead roles. Permanent Roommates actor Sumeet Vyas will be playing Kapoor Khan’s love interest in the film. The girl gang entertainer has got us all excited by giving us a peek into their fascinating universe.
On Friday, the producers of the film, Balaji Motion Pictures, announced the new release date on their official Twitter handle. The tweet said, “A wedding to remember and a date that’s unforgettable! Block your calendars for Veere Di Wedding on 1st June 2018. Ekta Kapoor shared a postponed date on social media along with the caption, “1 June is one big day!!!! Veere di wedding arrives on my lakkshya’s bday!!!! Ab shaadi aur bday pe aap sab ko nimantran hai”
The first poster was released in October, and featured all the actresses clad in male wedding attire. Co-produced by Rhea Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor and Nikhil Dwivedi, the film chronicles the story of four friends attending a wedding together.
The film, which is written by Nidhi Mehra and Mehul Suri, has been shot in Mumbai, Delhi and Phuket.
