New Delhi: ‘Azhar’ - the biopic on the life of former Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin is making it to the news for more bad reasons than good.

The Emraan Hashmi starrer, released on Friday, May 13, seems to have opened a new chapter of controversies.

Azharuddin’s ex-wife Sangeeta Bijlani and ex-cricketer Manoj Prabhakar have already registered their complaints with film makers for wrong projection of their characters.

And now the latest name to join the list is former cricketer and current Team India coach - Ravi Shastri.

He is reportedly miffed for being depicted as womaniser in the flick and has expressed his displeasure to the cricket association.

As per the reports published in a leading daily, Ravi Shastri’s family is also shocked by his portrayal in the film. A scene in the film shows him getting cosy with another woman in a hotel room while his wife is at the same hotel looking for him.

Did Mohammad Azharuddin break into tears while watching Emraan Hashmi’s ‘Azhar’?

Interestingly, when Azharuddin’s name coined in match-fixing scandal way back in past, Ravi Shastri had said a number of things against Azhar.

Now, as per the sources this is Azhar’s way of retaliate.

Bigg Boss 8 winner Gautam Gulati has portrayed the role of Ravi Shastri, Prachi Desai has played Naureen while Sangeeta Bijlani has been essayed by Nargis Fakhri in the movie.

Azhar, which opened to rave views from critics, is doing a decent business at the box office.
