Actress Raveena Tandon, who is gearing up for her comeback film Maatr will fight the box office battle with her husband Anil Thadani’s film Noor. Both the films are slated to release this Friday.
Raveena’s film deals with the sensitive subject of rape and Noor starring Sonakshi Sinha narrates the story of a journalist. Interestingly, both are women centric films. Though, the films deal with some different issues, it is still going to be difficult for the audiences to choose their favourite film.
Box office clash is not new to the industry. The year started with the epic battle of Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees and Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil. The Independence Day weekend will witness clash between SRK’s film helmed by Imtiaz Ali and Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha.
This battle is different because Raveena is competing with her distributor husband. The winner of the battle is yet to be decided.
The trailer of the Maatr indicated that Raveena has given strong performance in the film whereas Sonakshi will be seen playing a journalist in Noor. The latter is the cinematic adaptation of Saba Imtiaz's novel Karachi, You're Killing Me!. The fate of both the film will be decided on April 21.
