The actor, who will next be seen in Nandita Das' directorial venture "Manto", will be playing one of the lead roles in "Hamid". The film, directed by Aijaz Khan, is a heart-warming tale of a relationship between a widowed mother and a young son who loses his father during the unrest in Kashmir.
The plot deals with the current situation in Kashmir and its impact on the people who live there. It has been shot in different parts of Kashmir including Srinagar and Baramula.
"What really appealed to me about the film was how it has shown the human side to the current plight and given the snapshot into the scenario using a very personal story instead of making it political," Rasika said in a statement.
