Mumbai: Bollywood's livewire actor Ranveer Singh has been feted with the Master Dinanath Mangeshkar Award by the legendary singer Asha Bhosle.
The "Ladies vs Ricky Bahl" star was honoured with the award on Sunday for his performance in filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus "Bajirao Mastani".
Each year, the Mangeshkar clan organises this award in honour of the Late Pandit Dinanath Mangeshkar to recognise artists who have created great impact in their respective fields.
Ranveer, who was away shooting for "Befikre" in Paris, was all ready to accept this honour through a Skype call.
However, due to a network issue at the venue, the actor sent in a video message instead to extend his gratitude.
"I wish I was there today. I am finding it difficult to describe what it means to me to be recognised by one of the greatest artists of all time,"
Ranveer said in a statement.
The actor also promised to work harder.
"Today, I feel the journey of 'Bajirao Mastani' has been properly fulfilled. I promise to work harder and make you more proud in the future," he added.
