Actor Ranveer Singh is keeping his figures crossed for his upcoming film ‘Befikre’. But, it seems that controversies surrounding his Jack and Jones advertisement refused to die. After facing outrage on various social networking sites, now a lawyer has filed a complaint against the actor.
The advertisement featured Ranveer carrying a girl on his shoulder. It captioned, “'Don't hold back. Take your work home.” It was criticised for its sexist comments and soon was pulled down. Jack and Jones India also posted an apology from their official Twitter handle.
Later, Ranveer Singh also clarified that he respect women professionally and personally and he was sorry for those billboards. But it seems that it was not enough as the lawyer has requested National Commission for Women to issue a notice to the ‘Bajirao Mastani’ actor and the ad organisers.
The lawyer stated that the advertisement hoarding was derogatory and it was clear from it the actor could do cheap things for money. She further added that it portrayed women as mere objects.
Previously, Tamil actor Siddharth also condemned Ranveer’s advertisement on Twitter.
Now, with this news Ranveer’s excitement for his upcoming film may take a back step. However, his reaction on the same is still awaited.
On the professional front, Ranveer will next be seen in Aditya Chopra’s directorial venture ‘Befikre’ alongside Vaani Kapoor. The flick is slated to release on December 9.
