‘Rangoon’ is a piece of art and beyond box office collections, says Kareena

The gorgeous mummy of Taimur Ali Khan said that Vishal Bhadwaj’s movies go beyond the typical “masala” film and the filmmaker makes art cinema, much more like a painting.

Kangana Ranaut, Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan starrer “Rangoon “has had a disappointing start at the box-office till date. Now, Kareena Kapoor Khan recently said that “Rangoon” is not a typical conventional film. The film is a piece of art and is beyond box-office collections.

The gorgeous mummy of Taimur Ali Khan said that Vishal Bhadwaj’s movies go beyond the typical “masala” film and the filmmaker makes art cinema, much more like a painting.

Speaking to a leading daily, the actress said that Vishal’s films are meant for a certain type of audience and doesn’t cater to everyone in particular.

“Vishal Bhardwaj is known for creating art cinema. So, when you do a film like that, with a lot of love for cinema, the actors get lot of appreciation. Some films are beyond box office collections”, said the actress.

Talking about her hubby Saif’s performance in the film Kareena said that there was no question of success or failure of his films since it has been more than 25 long years for Saif in the industry.

Earlier, during Rangoon’s special screening, the “Jab We Met” actress was all praises for the film and went on to say that she was expecting it to be one of the best films of the year. 

On the work front, the 36-year old actress will be seen next in “Veere Di Wedding”, which is slated to release in May. 

The film also stars Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania.

"Rangoon" has collected  only Rs 20.57 crores at the box office till date.
