Actor Randeep Hooda recently created a buzz in the industry after he shared a pic of himself dressed as a Sikh sepoy.

Before anyone could speculate, it was revealed that the stunning actor, who lately won accolades for his performance in ‘Sarbjit’, has been roped in for the movie Battle of Saragarhi’.

Hooda will play the role of Havaldar Ishar Singh in this Rajkumar Santoshi directorial.

The movie is based on the Battle of Saragarhi that took place in 1897 between British Indian Army and Afghan Orakzai tribesmen in the North-West Frontier Province. This battle is written in golden words in history as it marks the bravery of 21 brave Sikhs of the British Indian Army who fought with over 10 thousand Afghan Orakzai and Afridi tribesmen.

These 21 sikhs were lead by Havaldar Ishar Singh. All these brave soldiers were resilient and undeterred who chose to fight till their last breath.

But Randeep Hooda is not the only one to give life to this historical battle.

Interestingly, Ajay Devgn too recently released the first look of his upcoming movie ‘Sons of Sardaar: The Battle of Saragarhi’, which happens to be made on the same topic. Interestingly, Devgn will don the directorial hat once again for the movie.

While both the movie are reportedly yet to finalise the entire cast, it is rumoured that the Randeep Hooda and Ajay Devgn starrer will clash at the box office on Diwali 2017.

On the other hand, this wouldn’t be the first time Ajay Devgn will be having a clash over a historical movie. Earlier, his movie ‘The Legend of Bhagat Singh’ had clashed with Sunny Deol’s ‘23rd March 1931: Shaheed’ in 2003.

Unfortunately, it was ‘23rd March 1931: Shaheed’ who won this battle with an overall gross collection of Rs 3.25 crores, while ‘The Legend of Bhagat Singh’ minted Rs. 1.5 crores.

We wonder if this time, history will favour Ajay Devgn.
