Filmmaker Anurag Basu’s Jagga Jasoos, which is being called a children’s film by the lead actors Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, has been given ‘U/A’ certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification, says report. Speculations are rife that CBFC verdict has miffed the makers of the film as they were expecting ‘U’ certificate and they are not happy with the decision. Jagga Jasoos tells the journey of a boy to find his father.
A source revealed to a leading daily that Jagga Jasoos was submitted for certification on Thursday and was cleared with ‘U/A’ certificate and no cut on Friday. The decision has left the makers in a state of confusion that what content of the film made it suitable for children only accompanied by an adult.
However, CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani thinks that the certification is appropriate saying that people will get to know the reason behind it once the film gets released.
Few days back, filmmaker Anurag Basu said that Jagga Jasoos is his childhood memories playing on the big screen and it was just a coincidence that Ranbir’s hairdo in the film looks similar to cartoon character Tintin.
Katrina and Ranbir’s reactions on the CBFC certification is still awaited. Jagga Jasoos is slated to release on July 14.
