After the sexist comment on International Women’s Day, the very outspoken and controversial filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has made it to the news once again. This time, the director has targeted Uttar Pradesh’s Anti-Romeo Squad.

The squad was launched by Director General of Police Uttar Pradesh (DGP) Javeed Ahmed with the aim to check on eve-teasing in public areas, following UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's orders for the safety of girls in the state.

Now,RGV doesn’t seem to like the name of the squad and so, he took his Twitter handle and expressed his dissatisfaction over the name of the squad.

"I am baffled with the name of Anti Romeo Squads...How can Romeo a revered lover be a synonym for a Eve teasing goon?", he tweeted.

In a series of tweets, he continued that it is irresponsible to use the name through a governmental diktat.

On the other hand, people didn't take the filmmaker's comment lightly and, trolled him instead. Someone even said that "people like RGV should be banned on Twitter."
