New Delhi: Megastar Rajinikanth’s upcoming movie ‘Kabali’ has been one of the most avidly awaited movies of the year. The movie, which happens to be a gangster-drama, has already been a rage among the audience and is leaving no stone unturned in garnering the attention.
In fact, the trailer of the movie received an overwhelming response as it crossed 5 million views in just 24 hours of release.
While the makers have high hopes with the Rajinikanth starrer, looks like the Puducherry government is also planning to encash the ‘Kabali’ fever.
Thr Puducherry government has started a special scheme for the residents of Sellipet panchayat, according to which they will be given free tickets of ‘Kabali’ if they construct toilets in their homes.
The idea was proposed by a collector of one of the districts in the UT to encourage people to build toilet.
Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, Kiran Bedi, also tweeted about how effective this trick turned out to be.
She tweeted, "Collector in #pondicherry is using gift of tickets of this film as incentive for use of Public Services!Its Working!
Bedi also requested Thalaiva to become the brand ambassador of Prosperous Puducherry so that it can be open defecation free., as she tweeted, "Request Super Star Rajani to b Brand Ambassador of #prosperouspuducherry to be #OpenDeficationFree #ODF @PMOIndia".
So far, Rajinikanth hasn’t released any statement over this scheme by Puducherry Government.
Directed by Pa Ranjith, ‘Kabali’ also features Radhika Apte, Dhansika, Dinesh Ravi, Kalaiyarasan, and John Vijay in key roles. The movie was earlier schedule to release on July 15, however, it is reportedly postponed by two weeks.
