Superstars Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar attended starrer their upcoming film 2.0 pre-audio launch in Dubai. Tagged as one of the biggest launches for the Tamil film industry, the event the event looked grand all the way. Besides Rajinikanth and Akshay, Shankar, AR Rahman and Amy Jackson also graced the 2.0 bash. The highlight was that the celebs made a grand entry in a chopper on their way to Burj al Arab and, stunned everyone. The 2.0 cast spoke to the media and several interesting details about the film were revealed.
2.0 is not a sequel of Enthiran
The filmmaker Shankar has shut rumours that 2.0 will be a sequel to Enthiran. "2.0 has a new format, a unique premise and a new message. The film has made in international standards. It will not look like an ordinary Indian action movie. It's a socio-fantasy, sci-fi actioner," he said.

On being quizzed as to why he is so humble, Rajinikanth said, “Nobody pays me to act in my real life. So I am simple.” Akshay Kumar was asked about his experience working with Rajinikanth and he replied, “I have to do five more films with Rajinikanth to learn a lot more from him.”

The cast also revealed that there will be only three songs in the film, of which two will be released on October 27. The third one will be released at a later date.

Akshay Kumar, who plays Dr Richard in 2.0, said playing an anti-hero was a very different experience. The Toilet: Ek Prem Katha actor was all praises for his co-star Rajinikanth and said, "I've learned many things from Rajini sir. The kind of commitment he has for his movies is unbelievable. I've heard many enlightening short stories from him on sets. He's a such a down to earth person. Even after achieving so much of superstardom, nothing has ever crossed his head.
"He is always the same lovely human being - The Superstar Rajinikanth. I pray that I get many other films to work with him. I would at least need five more movies with him to learn everything. He's a very jovial man. He has guts and puts his money in places which he trusts. He has instincts, and it's worked all his life", Akshay added.
2.0 event
2.0 was slated to release in Diwali but, the movie’s release has been postponed to January 25, 2018. "Our most ambitious project, Shankar's 2.0 shifts to January 25, 2018. It moves from earlier Diwali release to achieve world class standards in VFX," said Raju Mahalingam, COO, Lyca Productions, the makers of 2.0.
