Raid director Raj Kumar Gupta to make film on one of India's greatest spies, Ravinder Kaushik

Nicknamed as 'Black Tiger', Ravinder Kaushik operated undercover in Pakistan and died at the age of 47 in prison.

Filmmaker Raj Kumar Gupta is known for his hard-hitting movies. Last year, the director delivered his first Rs 100 crore film, Raid, starring Ajay Devgn and Saurabh Shukla in pivotal roles. His next film, India's Most Wanted starring Arjun Kapoor is under post-production work and will soon hit theatres. Now, Gupta has purchased the film rights to the story of a RAW agent, Ravinder Kaushik and will soon make a film on it. Nicknamed as 'Black Tiger', Kaushik operated undercover in Pakistan and died at the age of 47 in prison.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to announce Gupta's next project. Along with photos of the director and Ravinder Kaushik, he wrote,''ANNOUNCEMENT... #NoOneKilledJessica and #Raid director Raj Kumar Gupta - currently making #IndiasMostWanted - announces next film... Based on Ravinder Kaushik aka The Black Tiger, one of India's greatest spies... Gupta has acquired rights to Ravinder's story from his family''.

Raj Kumar Gupta has been interacting with Ravinder's mother Amladevi, and brother since last one and a half years.

Kaushik was a theatre actor before he caught the attention of intelligence officials, who spotted him performing at a national-level dramatics meet in Lucknow. The 23-year-old Kaushik spoke Urdu fluently and was sent to Pakistan as Nabi Ahmed Shakir after being trained in Delhi for two years. He entered Pakistan Army as a civilian clerk and gradually attained the rank of a Major. He also married a local girl during his stint. Between 1972-1983, he gave relevant information of Pakistani army to RAW.
