Raid featuring actors Ajay Devgn, Saurabh Shukla and Ileana D'Cruz has the wonderful first weekend. The movie minted Rs 17.11 cr on Sunday and the overall collection of the film now stands at Rs 41.01 cr. It seems that the positive word of mouth and some amazing performances by the star cast are the reason behind the film doing a wonderful business at the box office. The numbers were shared by trade analyst Taran Adarsh on social media.
Taran took to micro-blogging site Twitter and tweeted, “Raid gets a THUMBS UP from audiences... Witnesses SOLID GROWTH on Sat + Sun... Strong word of mouth helps multiply numbers, after a mediocre start on Fri morning... Emerges SECOND HIGHEST WEEKEND of 2018... Fri 10.04 cr, Sat 13.86 cr, Sun 17.11 cr. Total: ₹ 41.01 cr. India biz.”
The movie has limited promotional activities still the box office numbers are strong. Raid has the second highest opening weekend after Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat. The movie is not facing competition from any big film. However. Kartik Aaryan starrer Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety is giving tough fight to all the latest releases. The movie is moving towards Rs 100 cr mark.
On a related note, Ajay and Saurabh’s performances were lauded in Raid. The movie is directed by Raj Kumar Gupta and is based on the true story.
