After withdrawing from Navdeep Singh's historical drama starring Saif Ali Khan, actor R. Madhavan has said no to Rohit Shetty's Simmba. Actually, Madhavan underwent a shoulder surgery last month and is recovering from it, hence he cannot do action sequences. Both the movies are heavy on stunts and this has made Maddy say no to them.
Madhavan took to Twitter to express his disappointment. ''Hey folks... So I am a huge crazy fan of Rohit Shetty and his films. As is my son. It breaks both our hearts that I'm not able to be a part of this film because of my injury. I'm well on my way to recovery but this is a huge opportunity and excitement lost," he tweeted.
Madhavan was to play an antagonist in Ranveer Singh starrer. The movie helmed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Dharma Productions recently announced its leading lady, Sara Ali Khan. The cop drama features Ranveer as Sangram Bhalerao. The shooting will commence sometime around April and the film will release on December 28.
Earlier, Madhavan's role was supposed to be played by Abhishek Bachchan, who refused to be a part of the film due to some unknown reason. Now we wonder that after Madhavan has backed out, will Rohit Shetty again approach Junior B?
Meanwhile, Madhavan was last seen in a web series Breathe.
