Priyanka Chopra, who was recently lauded for her bang on come back with ‘Quantico 2’, has lately landed herself in a soup over a recent photo shoot for a magazine cover.
Priyanka Chopra recently shot for the cover picture of Conde Nast Traveller India’s October-November edition, which happens to be a lifestyle and travel magazine.
While the actress looked ravishing on the magazine cover, little did she know that her tee-shirt would invite flak from her fans and create a hullabaloo because of its graffiti.
Chopra’s tee had the words 'Refugee', 'Immigrant' and 'Outsider' striked out, while the word ‘Traveller’ was left as it is. While the quote suggested that PeeCee was not a refugee or a immigrant but just a traveller, this didn’t go down well with several Twitter users.
The Twitteratis deemed the quote as highly insensitive towards the refugees and immigrants.
Soon after Priyanka shared the picture on her Twitter account with a caption saying ‘bold and fearless’, she was slammed by Twitteratis for cold-heartedness and also an explanation was sought from the actress for her insensitivity.
The Twitter users also took s dig at Priyanka’s celebrity status and questioned about how can she compare herself with refugees despite being one of the highest paid actress in the world.
So far neither Priyanka Chopra nor the CNT magazine owners has reacted to the controversy. We wonder what the actress has to say in her defence.
