Poster Boys which marks the directorial debut of actor Shreyas Talpade released in India on 8th September. The film showed a massive growth at the box office on the second day of its opening, despite having a slow start on the day of its release. The film which features Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Shreyas Talpade in the pivotal roles, faced the clash with Arjun Rampal’s Daddy. The flick is based on the life of a ganster-turned-politician Arun Gawli. Both the films started on the slower note, but Poster Boys performed better on the subsequent day.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the day 2 collection of Poster Boys. Shreyas Talpade’s Poster Boys experienced 37.14% growth on second day. It raked in Rs. 2.40 crore on Saturday, making the total Rs. 4.15 crore.
Arjun Rampal’s Daddy however, earned Rs. 1.55 crore according to koimoi.com. The film which mustered Rs. 1.30 crore on the first day, didn’t show any significant growth on the second day itself. Daddy witnessed an average occupancy of 20% on its opening. Arjun Rampal’s film was expected to do much better, but it seems like Poster Boys is winning the race hands down.
Poster Boys is a remake of Marathi film Poshter Boyz. The film is being popular among the audience for having brought back the Deol brothers on the screen after 4 years. Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol enjoy a dedicated fan base in Northern India and hence, it’s performing better than Arjun Rampal’s Daddy. After Poster Boys, the Deol duo will share the screen space again in the third instalment of Yamla Pagla Deewana franchise along with Dharmendra.
