Actor Akshay Kumar is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film PadMan that addresses the issues like mensuration, sanitary napkins and female health. The movie, which got U/A certificate is all set to hit the screens on February 9 but seems like Phullu director Abhishek Saxena is not happy with it. The latter has taken a jibe at Central Board of Film Certification for treating both the films differently. Phullu and PadMan deal with the same issues but the former was given A certificate by CBFC during Pahlaj Nihalani’s tenure as the Chairman.
Abhishek, who directed the small budget film Phullu, shared his views on social networking site Facebook. He wrote, “Ye toh hona hi tha.... Jaha Akshay Kumar khade hojate hai waha se sab rules badal jate hai....”
Phullu
This indeed is disheartening for cinema lovers as both the movies carried the same message, but the way they were treated was different. It goes without saying that the fate of PadMan which featured renowned stars like Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor is going to be better than that of Phullu.
On a related note, PadMan, directed by R Balki was earlier scheduled to hit the screens on January 25 but after Bhansali’s request, the release date have been postponed to February 9 and will clash with Sidharth Malhotra starrer Aiyaary.
