Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati is garnering more controversies with each passing day. The movie is already facing threats by fringe outfits and has differences with CBFC. Amidst all chaos, here comes a relief for makers as the Supreme Court has rejected a plea seeking to block Padmavati release. The Apex Court says that it is premature and would amount to pre-judging the matter.

The reaction of a bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra came after it was told that the Central Board of Film Certification has yet to clear the film. Padmavati has not yet received certification from CBFC. In view of this, our interference will tantamount to pre-judging the matter. We don't intend to do so," the court said in its order, rejecting the plea.

The court order came on a plea by advocate M.L. Sharma, seeking to block the release of the film, till objectionable scenes were deleted. He also sought institution of criminal case against Bhansali.

Deepika Padukone and Bhansali are continuously receiving threats from fringe groups. Earlier, Suraj Pal Amu, Haryana's BJP chief media coordinator announced a reward of Rs 10 crore for beheading the two stars. Also, Akhil Bhartiya Kshatriya Mahasabha after burning over a hundred effigies of Padukone, announced a bounty of Rs 1 crore for burning her alive.

The controversy began early this year when members of Karni Sena stormed into shooting location in Jaipur and vandalised the sets. They also assaulted director Bhansali alleging ''distortion of facts'' about Rajput queen Padmini.
