PadMan box office collection: Akshay Kumar’s film earns Rs 64.97 cr

PadMan is based on the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, the man who invented low-cost sanitary napkins. The film is directed by filmmaker R.Balki.

Actor Akshay Kumar’s PadMan is doing good business at the box office. The movie deals with the subject of menstrual hygiene and also features actresses Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in pivotal roles. On its second week, the film has earned Rs 2.10 cr on Friday and its overall collection now stands at Rs 64.97 cr. The numbers were shared by trade analyst Taran Adarsh on social media.

Taran took to micro-blogging site Twitter to share the numbers. He tweeted, “#PadMan slows down considerably... [Week 2] Fri 2.10 cr. Total: ₹ 64.97 cr. India biz.”

The movie minted Rs 10.26 cr on its opening day and fared well in its first week. It is yet to be seen if PadMan manages to enter the coveted Rs 100 cr club at the box office.

Akshay was last seen in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha alongside Bhumi Pednekar. The movie was based on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The film did wonderful business at the box office and also entered the coveted Rs 100 cr club.
