Salman Khan was supposed to play the lead in Remo D’Souza’s dance film tentatively titled Dancing Dad. The film is reportedly about a single dad with two left feet, who will have to learn dancing for his nine-year-old daughter, to join her on the floor during a dance competition. The Tubelight actor was reluctant to play the role as he felt that he won’t be able to do justice also, that he is too old for the part. So, now the film has apparently fallen in Varun Dhawan’s kitty. The Judwaa 2 actor has worked with Remo in ABCD 2.

According to a report in Deccan Chronicle, Remo will begin the project with none other than Varun Dhawan. “Varun happily agreed when Remo approached the Badlapur actor. They have collaborated very successfully on Any Body Can Dance. After the socially relevant October with Shoojit Sircar, another dance film seems just the thing Varun needs to do”, a source was quoted as saying to the daily.

This dance film is not the third installment of the ABCD franchise., “This film has nothing to do with the ABCD franchise. Remo designed it for Salman. But Salman was reluctant from the start and had even recommended Varun for the role”, the source further added.

Actor Varun Dhawan, whose last film Judwaa 2 did wonders at the box office, has stated that success gave him the confidence to take risks. The actor has teamed up with director Shoojit Sircar for his upcoming film October in which he will be sharing the screen space with newbie Banita Sandhu.

The actor, who has now teamed up with director Shoojit Sircar for his upcoming film "October", says he does not discriminate between genres.

"Success gives you more confidence, only if something works then people want you to come back to it again. I never see it as an art or commercial film, for me it's either a good film or bad," Varun Dhawan said.
