Just when you thought Nawazuddin Siddiqui couldn't surprise us further, he's back with another surprise package
Nawazuddin Siddiqui is trending for all the right reasons. The talented actor, who emerged in the industry amid the waves of Nepotism, where Khans and Kapoors have already rooted their names. He has challenged the stereotypes that you need a charming personality and six-pack abs to become a celebrated actor in industry. Nawaz carved a niche in B-town without fulfilling the conventional criteria to quality oneself as an actor. Such is a popularity of the actor now, that youngsters head to the hall to watch any movie that bears his name in the cast. Here he is, without the six-pack abs and gelled hair!
When we look down at the filmography of this great actor, we come across many films where Nawazuddin alone carried the entire film on his shoulder. He might have not played the lead role always, but that’s the thing about Nawaz. He doesn’t need the spotlight to get noticed. His talent is never left unappreciated, be it ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ or ‘Kahaani’. Here are some other films that led Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s way to our heart.
Kahaani
We all remember the film for Vidya Balan’s exceptional acting skills and extremely enigmatic storyline. But the iron-pillar, who equally carried the film on his shoulder, was Nawazuddin Siddiqui as an investigating officer Mr. Khan. This is Nawaz’s one of the most memorable character where he was seen in an despiteful role with a caustic tone and a cigarette in his mouth. Imagine Kahaani minus Nawazuddin Siddiqui; the impact wouldn’t be as same as we have now.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan
Apart from Munni’ apple red cheeks and Salman Khan’s unpretentious persona in the film, Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Chand Nawab stole as many hearts. In fact, in some sequences, he sneakily stole the thunder from the lead actor and superstar Salman Khan. One couldn’t have imagined Bajrangi Bhaijaan without Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Chand Nawab.
Talaash
The critically-acclaimed Aamir Khan-starrer film was praised by the audience as well for its well-kept suspense and also for the acting skills of the cast. One of them was Nawazuddin Siddiqui who played the role of Taimur. Playing a physically disabled on screen isn’t a cakewalk, but Siddiqui pulled out the task so well that he won the Asian Film Award for the Best Supporting Actor for the role.

The Lunchbox
There isn’t a thing about the film which wasn’t lauded by the critics and audience. Right from the silver steel lunchbox to clanking sounds of Mumbai local, everything was right in place. Though, Nawaz got a small screen time in the movie, everytime he made presence, the audience couldn’t control their fit of laughter.
Mom
This is the latest addition to the list. Ravi Udyavar’s directorial held the spotlight consistently on the lead actress Sridevi. But despite so, Nawazuddin Siddiqui outshines and at some point, steals the thunder entirely from the lead actors. He never fails to live up to the expectations of his fans, in fact, he outlives them. His guise was nearly unrecognisable and his role was even better than ever.
