The Sabbir Khan directional film Munna Michael released on July 21 amid great expectations. Right from Tiger Shroff’s stunts to Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s dance moves, everything caught the eye. However, the film, which also starred debutante Nidhhi Agerwal, failed to impress the audience as well as the critics. The first day collection of Munna Michael is out and, the figures don’t look much impressive. The film has earned 6.65 crore on the first day of its opening, trade analyst Taran Adarsh informed.

Taking to his Twitter handle, the trade analyst shared the opening day collection of the film. “#MunnaMichael Fri ₹ 6.65 cr [3000 screens]. India biz”, he wrote.

The action dance film talks about following your passion, father-son relationship and intense love. Munna Michael movie is entertaining and also keeps you engaged at some points. The major problem is the direction. Sabbir Khan had stars such as Nawazuddin Siddqui and Ronit Roy, who plays Tiger’s father in the film. However, we don’t get to see or feel the aura of such strong personalities.  Tiger Shroff could also have done much better rather than just dancing or performing stunts. Even Nidhi had the scope of being more than just a pretty girl.

Talking about Tiger Shroff, the filmmaker said, "Irrespective of the fact that somebody can do action really well or can dance really well, it means nothing if they are not in character that the director demands. So, people do talk that Tiger does great action and dance, but that's only because the way he does it is extremely good so people talk about," Sabbir told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

"But, I feel that overshadows the fact that he really is making a great effort to act well. Had he been a bad actor, he wouldn't have connected with the audience right from his first film ‘Heropanti'. "He wouldn't have had such a fan following. Of course, his dance and action is talked about... He gets appreciated for it, but at the foundation of it, he is getting better as an actor everyday”, he added.
