New Delhi: Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni is one of the best cricketers the country has over had. No wonder his upcoming biopic is becoming a rage amongst the audience.
Titled as ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’, the movie stars Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead. While the movie will focus on Dhoni’s life, his struggle and journey to success, it will also unveil of the untold phase of Dhoni’s life – his first love tory.
Yes! We know that the ace cricketer is happily married to Sakshi. But not much people are aware of the fact, that Sakshi was not the first girl in Dhoni’s life. In fact, he was madly in love with a girl named Priyanka Jha during his early 20s, much before dating Sakshi.
This is was quite an important phase of Dhoni’s life as he was selected for the Zimbabwe-Pakistan-Kenya tour in 2003-2004. The cricketer gave a stunning performance during the tour and helped India chase 223 with a half-century, following up with consecutive centuries. He scored 362 runs in six innings in the tri-nation tournament.
However, little did he know the tragic turn his life was going take soon. Post winning laurels for his country, he came home only to learn that his girlfriend passed away in an accident. This was indeed a hard time for Dhoni. He mourned for almost a year and everyone thought he would be shattered, he bounced back. And since then, there has been no stopping for him.
Dhoni went on to become one of the greatest limited-overs skippers. He later found love in Sakshi and the two has been happily married for six years and also have a daughter Ziva.
Dhoni’s biopic will also star Kiara Advani who will play the role of Saskhi. On the other hand, Disha Patani is said to be playing the role of Priyanka Jha.
Helmed by Neeraj Pandey, ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’ is scheduled to release on September 30.
