Mohanlal’s epic saga Mahabharata faces protest over name by pro-Hindu group
Actor Mohanlal is all set to feature in the big screen adaptation of Mahabharata.
Actor Mohanlal is all set to feature in the big screen adaptation of Mahabharata. The film is based on MT Vasudevan’s book Randamoozham and is touted to be one of the biggest films with the budget of Rs 1,000 crore. The film has now run into controversy over its name.
According to reports, Kerala Hindu Aikya Vedi president KP Sasikala has asked to change the title of the film. She has reportedly said the mega budget film can only have the title Mahabharata, if it is based on the epic written by Vyasan. She added that as the film is based on Randamoozham, then it should be the title of the flick.
She said, “Veda Vyasan also has his rights.”
This is surely a sad news for all Mohanlal fans. The Malayalam actor enjoys huge fan following. Ever since, it was announced that Mohanlal will be playing the role of Bheema in Mahabharata, people were very excited.
Actor KRK has to face the wrath of his fans when he insulted Mohanlal saying that the actor is not fit for the role of Bheema. He was trolled heavily on Twitter.
The mega budget film will be directed by ad-filmmaker Shrikumar Menon. The film is likely to go on floors by 2018.
