Critically-acclaimed Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee has been conferred with Padma Shri after his 25-year-long journey in the field of acting. The actor who has wowed audiences with his performance in Satya, Bandit Queen, Aligarh has raised the bar for himself with his each and every film. Bajpayee has always amazed fans with his film choices by featuring in widely-acclaimed movies such as Shool, Zubeida, Pinjar, Aks among others. He is known for getting into the skin of the character in his movies. The actor makes sure to never repeat himself and that's why he is loved by his fans.
Bajpayee won National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor and Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor for playing Bhiku Matre in Ram Gopal Verma's 1998 film Satya. For unversed, Padma Shri is the fourth highest civilian award after Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan.
The actor is quite elated on receiving such a huge honour. Bajpayee shared, ''Since the time I heard the news I have been ecstatic and feel very honoured. My family, my friends, my fans, all of them have been sending their congratulations and love since the news came out. When a performance is judged on the basis of excellence it’s truly amazing and the feeling of victory is much sweeter''.

Bajpayee will next be seen in Son Chiriya which has an ensemble cast comprising Sushant Singh Rajput, Ranvir Shorey, Ashutosh Rana, Bhumi Pednekar among others.
