Kangana Ranaut’s historical drama Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi witnessed tremendous growth on day two at the box-office. After a decent opening of Rs 8.75 crore on Friday, the national holiday of Republic Day helped the film to rake in big moolah. Witnessing a huge growth of 130 to 140 per cent, Kangana’s Manikanika earned Rs 19 crore on Saturday, taking the total box office collection to Rs 27 crore (approx) in two days, according to Box Office India report.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh said, ""#Manikarnika sees remarkable growth on Day 2... Strong word of mouth has come into play, while #RepublicDay holiday has given the much-required boost... Day 3 will be in double digits again... Fri 8.75 cr, Sat 18.10 cr. Total: ₹ 26.85 cr. India biz. #Hindi #Tamil #Telugu".
Manikarnika latest box-office collection is now the highest single day ever for a female driven film. One of the main reasons for this that women-driven films scarcely gets a chance to release on National holiday. So, Republic Day 2019 surely brought great numbers for Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.
Made on a humongous budget of Rs 125 core, Manikarnika needs to keep the same pace or higher as far as the box office is concerned. The crucial test will be on Sunday and the coming week after which, the film will be facing the box office battle with Sonam Kapoor starrer Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga.
Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi released on January 25 along with Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Thackeray, which is mostly earning good numbers in the Maharashtra region.
Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi has been directed by Krish and Kangana Ranaut and produced by Kamal Jain. The screenplay is by Baahubali fame KV Vijayendra Prasad.
