Anubhav Sinha all praises for Lipstick Under My Burkha, says film will create a new success economics in industry

Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha is all praised for Alankrita Shrivastava’s directorial Lipstick Under My Burkha. He said that the movie is going to create new success economics in Bollywood. Lipstick Under My Burkha struggled for a number of months with Central Board of Film Certification earlier this year over the removal of sexual scene from the movie. CBFC refused to grant a certificate to the film, describing the film too women-oriented. After its release, the movie garnered rave reviews from critics and audience. Anubhav Sinha praises the subject of the film.
"Films like ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha' will create a new success economics which will not be about Fridays and over-hyped paid success cacophony," Sinha tweeted on Sunday.
According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, "Lipstick Under My Burkha" has raked in Rs 3.39 crore in two days.
"‘Lipstick Under My Burkha' witnesses growth on Saturday. Friday - Rs 1.22 crore, Saturday - Rs 2.17 crore. Total: Rs 3.39 crore (400 screens). India business," Adarsh tweeted.
Story of the film revolves around the lives of four women Rehana, Shireen, Leela and Usha Thakur who are shackled by society’s prejudice against women. The women, who live under the same roof, strive to create an air of freedom for themselves. Directed by Alankrita Shrivastava, Lipstick Under My Burkha features Konkona Sen Sharma, Ratna Pathak Shah, Aahana Kumra and Plabita Borthakur in the lead roles.
