Akshay Kumar who is currently busy with the shooting of Sooryavanshi recently shared the first look of film Laxmmi Bomb. Sharing the picture on Instagram Akshay captioned it, “‪Bringing you one bomb of a story,#LaxmmiBombstarring @kiaraaliaadvani & yours truly!Bursting in cinemas on 5th June,2020‬ Fox Star Studios Presents. A Cape of Good Films Production in association with Shabinaa Entertainment & Tusshar Entertainment House”. As soon as the look was shared, there was much buzz everywhere. However, filmmaker Raghava Lawrence  didn't seem too pleased and has, in fact, stepped down as the director of Laaxmi Bomb.

Upset by the fact that he wasn't informed about such major development Lawrence decided to step out of the movie and informed everyone through a post on social media. Raghava in his detailed post o Twitter, also mentioned that apart from this there are several other reasons as well, that prompted him to take this decision. He said, he felt "disrespected and disappointed" by the act. He also added that although he can hold back the script to himself and not give the makers to make the movie, he wouldn't do that since it will be unprofessional.

“Hi dear friends and fans, there is an old popular saying in Tamil which tells 'Don't step into any house where there is no respect'. In this world, more than money and fame, self-respect is the most important attribute to a person's character. So I have decided to step out of the project, 'Laxmmi Bomb', the Hindi remake of Kanchana. I don't want to mention the reason because there are multiple reasons, but one of them is that the first look poster of the film was released today without my knowledge and even without discussing anything with me. I was informed about this by a third person. It is very painful for a director to know about his movie's first look release from others. I feel very disrespected and disappointed",  Raghava Lawrence's full statement read.

Laxmmi Bomb, which is a remake of the Tamil film Kanchana also stars Kiara Advani playing the female lead. Akshay Kumar in the film will be seen playing the role of a man who gets possessed by a transgender ghost. Speculations are doing the rife that Amitabh Bachchan might appear as a transgender ghost in Laxmmi Bomb.
