New Delhi: Kareena Kapoor Khan and Arjun Kapoor starrer ‘Ki & Ka’ opened to a tremendous collection at the box office on the first day. The movie raked Rs 7. 30 crores on Friday.
The movie picked up in evening shows in multiplexes of metros.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted this:
With such a collection the movie has become the second highest opening grosser of this year, the first one being ‘Airlift’. Actor Akshay Kumar’s last movie had earned Rs 12.35 cr on opening day.
Directed by R. Balki, ‘Ki & Ka’ speaks about gender stereotypes and has brought to conversations why it is important to break them. In the movie Kareena plays Kia, an ambitious career oriented woman while Arjun is Kabir, who is a house husband. According to ‘Ka’ Arjun, homemaking is an art which needs dedication.
The movie opened to mixed reviews. While many critics appreciated the concept, they also said that the second half of it was sluggish.
Kareena’s acting impressed one and all; some went on to say that the role felt like it was tailored for her. Arjun, on the other hand looked a tad too pale when compared with Kareena, said critics.
Taran Adarsh also tweeted that the coming weekend is crucial in delivering an amazing weekend. The movie faces minimal competition from Po and his gang in ‘Kung Fu Panda 3’.
Let us see of it manages to retain its amazing start at the box office.
