Amidst protest over Padmaavat release, the Chittorgarh unit of Shri Karni Sena announced that it will make a film on director Sanjay Leela Bhansali's mother. The fringe outfit who is protesting and resorting to violence over inaccurate portrayal of their Maa Padmini said the title of the film will be Leela Ki Leela.
''The film will be titled ‘Leela ki Leela’ and a story is being worked out. An auspicious occasion (to begin work) will be chosen within the fortnight and hopefully it will be completed within the year,'' said Govind Singh Khangarot, district president of Kalvi faction of SRKS in Chittor as per a report in indianexpress.com.
The faction accused Bhansali of ''hurting the honour of Maa Padmini''. As there is freedom of expression in the nation, hence they too will express themselves through this film, they said. However, the ''film will be one of which Bhansali will be proud.''
Amidst all the chaos, film fraternity have come forward to support Padmaavat. Noted writer-lyricist Javed Akhtar who saw the magnum opus along with wife Shabana Azmi at the special screening questioned protestors. "I saw the film and I feel it is among the most accomplished achievements I've seen in Indian cinema in recent times. I fail to understand what the protesters are protesting against," asked Akhtar. His wife was also excited after watching the movie and even went on to say that it should be sent as India's entry to the Oscars.
