Kareena Kapoor was spotted rushing to his residence with her husband, Saif Ali Khan. Her face was visibly swollen and eyes were in tears.

Leaving an ever-lasting imprint on country's mind and heart, legendary Bollywood actor Shashi Kapoor passed away in Mumbai at the age of 79. The actor breathed his last at Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai. The funeral of the iconic star was held at Santacruz Cemetery. Confirming the news, Randhir Kapoor told media, ''Yes he has passed away. He had kidney problem since several years. He was on dialysis for several years".

The sudden news of his demise not only left his family in shock but even shattered the entire nation. Soon after the news broke out, celebrities began pouring in their tribute via Twitter. From PM Narendra Modi to Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn, prominent personalities expressed their grief and sorrow on this huge loss. Earlier, pictures of Randhir Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor rushing to hospital surfaced on social media. People from film fraternity are also visiting Shashi Kapoor's residence to console his family. Kareena Kapoor was spotted rushing to his residence with her husband, Saif Ali Khan. Her face was visibly swollen and eyes were in tears. Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Kajol, Rani Mukerji and filmmaker Boney Kapoor were also captured outside the late actor's house. Here are the pictures:

Shashi Kapoor entered in Bollywood as a child artist in the late 1940s and appeared in Sangram (1950) and Dana Paani (1953). Some of his best performances were in 1948 film Aag and 1951 Awaara. He also worked as an assistant director in movie, post Box 999 which was also the Bollywood debut of Sunil Dutt. Balbir Raj Kapoor, which was Shashi Kapoor's real name debuted with Dharmputra and went on to give blockbusters such as Deewar, Satyam Shivam Sundaram, Kabhi Kabhie among others.
